Zhejiang University is an institution of higher learning with a long history and a distinguished reputation. It is located in Hangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city and a scenic tourist destination in China. Qiushi Academy, the predecessor of Zhejiang University, was founded in 1897 and is one of the earliest modern institutions of higher learning established by Chinese people.
Zhejiang University is a comprehensive, research-oriented and innovative university with distinctive characteristics and great influence at home and abroad, covering 13 disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agronomy, medicine, management, arts and interdisciplinary disciplines. It has 7 academic departments, 40 professional schools (departments), 1 engineering school, 2 Chinese-foreign cooperative schools and 7 directly affiliated hospitals. The university has 7 campuses in Zijingang, Yuquan, Xixi, Huajiachi, Zhijiang, Zhoushan and Haining, covering an area of 7,390,613 square meters. The library has a total collection of 8,086 million volumes. By the end of 2023, the university has 67,656 full-time students, 5,514 international students, and 9,557 faculty members. Among the faculty members, there are 27 full-time academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 21 full-time academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 14 senior professors of liberal arts, 131 special professors of the “Cheungkong Scholars Award Program” of the Ministry of Education, and 210 winners of the National Outstanding Young Scholars Science Fund. In 2022, Zhejiang University was selected into the second round of “double first-class” construction universities, 21 disciplines were selected into the list of first-class disciplines, and the vast majority of disciplines made encouraging progress in the fifth round of discipline evaluation.

Eligibility:
- All current UNDERGRADUATE students from Faculty of Social Sciences with priority given to students majoring in Government and Public Administration;
- cGPA 3.0 or above.

Important Notes for Exchange Students
- They must obtain comprehensive insurance and complete at least 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccination prior to the departure (at students own expenses)
- They need to sign a Participant Declaration before departure
- They have to read the “Rules for Semester-based Outgoing Exchange Programmes” and pay attention to the credits requirement.
- They are acknowledged that the course arrangement during exchange study is subject to change and it is not guaranteed that the credit transfer could be made.
