Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Political Science

The Ph.D. in Political Science is designed to train students to conduct advanced scholarly research in international relations, comparative politics, or political economy and to prepare them for academic and research-oriented careers.

Programme Intended Learning Outcomes

  • Identify major cases, evolution, and trends in the selected sub-fields of political science, such as international relations, comparative politics, political economy, or political theory, etc.
  • Illustrate key concepts, theories, and approaches in the selected sub-fields of political science, including such as international relations, comparative politics, political economy, or political theory, etc.
  • Undertake original and innovative research of theoretical and practical nature in the selected subfields.
  • Acquire essential competence in career development so as to be competitive on the job market, and to be able to competently conduct research and teaching or other related work in higher education institutions or the equivalent.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of scholarly ethics and professional practice.
