Professor Rodrigo Franklin Frogeri Advances Geopolitical Research at the University of Macau with a Focus on Brazil

On 27 November 2024, Professor Franklin Frogeri visited the University of Macau’s Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) and the Department of Government and Public Administration (DGPA) to advance the University of Macau Research Project SGR2023-00026-FSS, focusing on the geopolitics of Brazil. This project aims to explore Brazil’s geopolitical landscape and its implications on global politics.

During his visit, Professor Frogeri held an office call with Professor Wu, the Head of FSS/DGPA, and Vice-Rector Professor Rui Martins. The meeting was a significant step in fostering academic collaboration and enhancing the research capabilities of the university. Discussions centered around the project’s objectives, methodologies, and potential outcomes, emphasizing the importance of understanding Brazil’s strategic position in the world.

In addition to these meetings, Professor Frogeri conducted a working session with students studying the politics of Portuguese-speaking countries. This session provided an interactive platform for students to engage with Professor Frogeri’s expertise and gain deeper insights into the geopolitical dynamics of Brazil and other Lusophone nations.

Furthermore, Professor Frogeri delivered a conference on China-Brazil diplomatic relations, highlighting the historical and contemporary aspects of their bilateral ties. His lecture underscored the strategic importance of China-Brazil relations in the context of global geopolitics, offering valuable perspectives to both students and faculty members. Professor Frogeri’s visit marks a pivotal moment in the project’s development, setting the stage for future research and academic exchanges between the institutions involved.
