Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic forced organizations to rapidly adapt, with telework becoming a key response strategy. This workshop explores the benefits and hidden costs of organizational support during crises, focusing on its impact on employee well-being, retention, and long-term organizational effectiveness. While strong support can mitigate negative effects on job satisfaction, it may also create unintended consequences, such as resistance to returning to traditional work settings. Beyond telework, the discussion will examine how public organizations can balance flexibility and stability in crisis management, workforce policies, and the future of work in a rapidly changing environment.
